Position: Contract Nurse Practitioner

POSITION SUMMARY:
The NP or PA provides healthcare services typically performed by a physician, in collaboration with a permanently licensed physician. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant performs history and physical exams, provides consultations, works with consultants, orders diagnostic studies, incorporates results of diagnostic tests in rendering diagnoses and treatment plans, prescribes medication, counsels patients and family members. The Nurse Practitioner manages the healthcare and treatment of patients who are acutely ill, chronically ill and critically ill and who are within age group of those patients eligible to be treated by the collaborating physician. The Nurse Practitioner will assess, stabilize and determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Performs assessments/examinations.
· Assesses and counsels patients and obtains medical histories.
· Bills for professional services as permitted by the collaborative practice agreement.
· Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
· Prescribes therapy or medication in accordance with the collaborative practice agreement.
· Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory test.
· Provide education to patients and their significant others, doctors and other health care professionals to improve clinical care.
· Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature and workshops.
· Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental, and infection    control standards.
· Refer to appropriate consultants as necessary in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications
· Current MSN with emphasis in the Nurse Practitioner program.
· AGPN, FNP or ACNP licensure or ability to successfully obtain licensure within 3 months of date of hire.
· Certain/additional certifications may be necessary based on area of specialty.
· Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS

Position: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide excellent quality psychiatric care to veterans experiencing significant mental illness, along with substance use disorders and seeking treatment and those experiencing co-occurring disorders; provide medication management, medical monitoring with patients. Provide education and consultation to treatment team members in conjunction with staff physician and medical director. Full treatment team participation is expected for comprehensive service delivery.

By way of adherence to state requirement and regulations for APN and Collaborative Agreement, provide:
·  Provision of medication management/monitoring to include prescribing, review of collateral medical record, review of lab values and consultation with PCP and/or other providers,(both in agency and in community) completion of correspondence to disability/insurance providers regarding client progress/level of functioning.
·  Documentation to be done in electronic medical record system to address all risk assessments; quality measures and utilizing ePrescribe for all medication orders.

·  Attend Medical Meetings and other collaborative treatment meetings as scheduled. Community education as needed and completion of mandatory CEU's

· Providing prescriptions as appropriate based on symptomology and best practice. Review of risk/benefit ratio with clients.
· Provision of AIMS scales, other screening tools, timely documentation/dictation and review of such for accuracy.
· Routine Metabolic Screening Assessments and ordering necessary f/u labs.
· Compliance with agency standards for ethics, CARF standards as well as Board standards for Ethics and licensure per APN/CNS and Nursing Boards.

Position: Medical Assistant-Surgery

Responsible for providing age-appropriate and culturally sensitive care, maintaining a safe environment, collecting information, communicating effectively, and utilizing technology to provide patients with quality medical care and stellar customer service.
Performs patient care tasks and selected therapies as delegated by a licensed professional including patient advocacy, teaching and performance improvement.

Position: Radiology/X-ray Tech

Operates X Ray and fluoroscopic equipment to produce routine radiographs of designated portions of the human body for adult and geriatric patients. This position is characterized by the ability to perform intravenous radiographic studies and work in areas requiring autonomy and indirect supervision. The Registered Radiologic Technologist/Screen must have the ability to work with Veterans in a fast paced environment.

Position Requirements
REQUIRED:
· Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
· Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
· Ability to deal tactfully and pleasantly with various types of patients, visitors, physicians, and other personnel.
· Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Position: Insurance Follow - Up Billing Specialist

Billing Specialist position is expected to meet all A/R department collection and follow-up performance expectations. The Insurance Follow-Up Specialist is a highly skilled, multi-tasking position that incorporates all key functions of the physician billing revenue cycle. This position serves as a patient-advocate through the life cycle of the account by identifying payer trends proactively in relation to zero payments, billing and denials. This position works closely with other collectors, coders and payment posters in completing claims billing & follow up collection activity while maintaining proficient results, accuracy and excellent customer service.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, full-time.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
· Responsible for all claim filing, including corrected claims and claim resubmission when needed.
· Maintains daily insurance follow-up, denial management and appeals reconciliation.
· Responds to patient account inquiries in a timely manner.
· Follows through with claims edit resolutions and claims rejection resolution.
· Maintains integrity of medical records/claims data.
· Assists other departments with questions and issues regarding patient accounts.
· Complies with revenue cycle policies and procedures.

· Preferred certification: Certified Patient Account Representative (CPAR)
